CM launches STAR 3.0 to transform registration services

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday launched the Registration Department’s STAR 3.0 project, a major digital governance initiative aimed at making property-related services faster, simpler and more citizen-friendly.
STAR 3.0 introduces a comprehensive work plan covering 18 services, designed to modernise and streamline the registration process. A key highlight of the project is the move towards paperless document registration, reducing the need for physical paperwork and in-person visits to registration offices.
Under the new system, citizens will be able to register documents online without visiting sub-registrar offices, while automated deed creation will minimise manual errors and delays. The project also simplifies online searches for encumbrance certificates, making property verification quicker and more transparent.
Officials said the initiative is expected to cut down processing time, improve accountability and enhance accessibility for the public. By leveraging technology, the Registration Department aims to provide efficient, reliable and user-centric services.
STAR 3.0 underscores the Tamil Nadu government’s focus on digital transformation, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, ease of doing business and improved service delivery for citizens and stakeholders.
