Chennai residents and visitors can now enjoy a more affordable stroll at the newly renovated Tholkappiar Poonga, as authorities have announced a reduction in walking fees. The fee cut is aimed at encouraging more people to make use of the green space for morning and evening walks, fitness activities, and leisurely recreation.
The park, which underwent extensive renovation and landscaping, now features well-maintained walking tracks, enhanced lighting, improved seating arrangements, and upgraded facilities for visitors. Officials say the fee reduction is part of a broader initiative to make public spaces more accessible and family-friendly.
With the lowered charges, Tholkappiar Poonga is expected to see a rise in footfall, attracting fitness enthusiasts, nature lovers, and families alike. The move underscores the city’s commitment to promoting health, wellness, and green urban spaces for all residents.
