After almost a month, TVK leader Vijay will be back in action as he attends an important meeting of senior party office-bearers today.
Meanwhile, veteran politician K. A. Sengottaiyan, Administrative Committee Coordinator of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), says that only party president Vijay has the potential to defeat the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters at the TVK headquarters in Panaiyur, Sengottaiyan highlighted Vijay’s rising popularity, describing him as more than just a film star and asserting that he is emerging as a major political force in the state. He claimed that Vijay commands around 34% of the vote share and is gaining support even among the Tamil diaspora.
Sengottaiyan dismissed rumours about his joining the DMK and took aim at both the ruling party and the opposition National Democratic Alliance (NDA), reinforcing his belief that Vijay is the leader capable of bringing political change in Tamil Nadu.
