Madhavan has described receiving the Padma Shri — one of India’s highest civilian honours — as “beyond my wildest dreams,” after the Padma Awards 2026 were announced on the eve of Republic Day.Taking to social media after the announcement, Madhavan expressed profound gratitude and humility, dedicating the honour to his family, mentors, well‑wishers and the audience whose support has been crucial throughout his career. He said the award was possible “only because of the blessings of my mentors, the goodwill of my well‑wishers, the love and encouragement of the public, and above all, the grace of the Almighty.”
