Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has confirmed that the sequel to Kaithi — titled Kaithi 2 — is still happening and has not been cancelled. He clarified that the film will be his next project after completing his upcoming film with Allu Arjun.Lokesh spoke at a press event to clear up confusion and rumours about the status of Kaithi 2. This comes after many fans wondered if the sequel was delayed or shelved due to other work commitments. He explained that his work on the Allu Arjun film, currently referred to as AA23, took priority and that production on Kaithi 2 will begin once that project is finished.
The director also denied reports that the delay was because of salary demands or that he had left the project. Instead, he said the timing issue was due to scheduling and his long‑standing commitments. He reaffirmed his commitment to Kaithi 2 and other films in his creative universe.
Fans can expect Kaithi 2 to move forward after Lokesh completes the Allu Arjun film, keeping the highly anticipated sequel very much alive.
