Premalatha Vijayakanth, National President of the DMDK (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam), said her party will form an alliance based on what the people want ahead of the upcoming elections.
She spoke to reporters in Chennai on Monday, emphasising that the DMDK will make its decision by listening to the voice of the public.
Premalatha, wife of actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth, said that the DMDK will work for the welfare of the people and that alliances should reflect the peopleās expectations and aspirations. She stressed that the partyās priority is to serve the public and address their issues.
She also welcomed discussions with various political parties but made it clear that the DMDK will not join any grouping only for power. The party will choose its alliance partner only after considering what is best for the people, she said.
