Beijing, Jan 27: Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a message of goodwill to India on its 77th Republic Day, calling China and India “good neighbours, friends and partners.” He extended his congratulations to Indian President Droupadi Murmu on the national celebration. In his message, Xi said that relations between China and India have improved and developed over the past year, and that strong ties between the two countries are important for peace and prosperity in the world. He used the symbolic phrase “dragon and elephant dancing together” to describe the idea of cooperation and harmony between the two Asian nations.
Xi expressed hope that both countries will expand exchanges and cooperation, address each other’s concerns, and promote stable and healthy relations. The two countries share a long, disputed border that has seen tension in the past, but recent steps have been taken to normalise diplomatic and economic engagement.
His message reflects an ongoing diplomatic effort to strengthen ties as India celebrates its Republic Day.
