The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has formally announced that it will begin its election campaigning across Tamil Nadu from February 1, 2026, less than two months before the scheduled Assembly polls in March–April. The campaign, under the slogan “Tamil Nadu Won’t Bow Down”, is designed as an intensive outreach programme covering all 234 Assembly constituencies in the State.
The party leadership, chaired by DMK President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, took the decision at a district secretaries’ meeting on January 20.
The campaign aims to underscore DMK’s governance record and connect with citizens at the grassroots level.
A total of 20 star campaigners — including ministers, MPs, senior party leaders, and seasoned orators — will be deployed across constituencies to lead the outreach effort.
These campaigners include figures such as Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, R.S. Rajakannappan, Dayanidhi Maran, Thamizhachi Thangapandian, and others, who will address public meetings and interactive sessions.
The DMK has instructed its district and constituency-level functionaries to organise public meetings and engage in dialogue with a broad cross-section of society — from students and youths to entrepreneurs, educators, and grassroots organisations.
The goal is to highlight the party’s achievements, gather public feedback, and generate support ahead of the polls.
