Leader of the Opposition and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has sharply criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, claiming that the state is “bowing its head” under the current DMK government’s rule. Palaniswami’s remarks came in a strongly-worded press statement.
In his statement, Palaniswami accused Stalin’s administration of weakening law and order in the state, saying that even vulnerable citizens — from young girls to elderly women — are unable to walk safely on public roads due to rising crime. He also alleged that drug abuse and criminal activity have become pervasive, with families and communities feeling unsafe under the current government.
Comparing Stalin’s leadership unfavourably with historical tyrants known for oppressive rule, Palaniswami claimed that Tamil Nadu has lost dignity and confidence under DMK governance. He criticised the government for failing to protect citizens and said many promises made by the ruling party remain unfulfilled.
