Tamizhaga Vettri kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay has shared his reflections on the tragic Karur rally stampede that occurred on September 27 last year, in which 41 people lost their lives.
Speaking at the NDTV Tamil Nadu summit, Vijay described the incident as “a shocking event” and revealed that the tragedy has weighed heavily on him ever since. He said that it took him considerable time to fully comprehend what happened and to come to terms with it.
Vijay noted, “The Karur stampede continues to haunt me. I needed time to process and understand the event. I do not react immediately to such situations.”
This is the first time the TVK leader has publicly addressed the Karur stampede since it occurred, emphasizing the personal impact the tragedy has had on him.
