Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader H. Raja was admitted to a hospital in Chennai on Friday after suddenly collapsing during a public media event, officials said. The incident took place while Raja was participating in a program when he fainted unexpectedly, prompting on-site assistance and immediate medical attention.
Raja was first given basic care at the venue, including sugar and initial aid, before being rushed to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai where he remains under observation. Medical evaluations including scans have been initiated as doctors assess the cause of his sudden illness.
The development comes amid a busy period of political engagement for the senior leader, who has been active in campaign and party activities in Tamil Nadu. Further updates on his health status are expected as doctors continue monitoring his condition.
