
The Union government has announced plans to develop seven high-speed rail corridors as key growth collectors to boost connectivity and economic activity across regions. The proposed corridors include Mumbai–Pune, Pune–Hyderabad, Hyderabad–Bengaluru, Hyderabad–Chennaix , Chennai–Bengaluru, Delhi–Varanasi, and Varanasi–Siliguri.
The projects are aimed at reducing travel time, strengthening regional integration, and accelerating urban and industrial growth along major economic routes.
Speaking on delivering a powerful push for infrastructure, Nirmala Sitharaman says that the govt will continue to focus on developing infra in cities with over 5 lakh population i.e. Tier 2, Tier 3 cities.
