Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K. Selvaperundhagai on Monday said the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will invite the Congress for seat‑sharing discussions within the next three days ahead of the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. He said the DMK and Congress have already held consultations at the leadership level, including discussions between DMK MP Kanimozhi and Congress leaders, and formal talks are expected to begin soon once the invitation is issued.
Selvaperundhagai reiterated that the Congress remains focused on strengthening its alliance with the DMK and dismissed suggestions of exploring other political partnerships at this stage.
He said the Congress is confident of negotiating a favourable seat‑sharing arrangement with its longstanding ally as election preparations gain momentum.
