Union Home Minister Amit Shah welcomed the recently announced India‑United States trade agreement, saying it will strengthen bilateral relations and promote mutual economic growth.
He described the deal as a positive step for both countries’ businesses and people.
Shah congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump for concluding the agreement, which includes a reduction of reciprocal tariffs on Indian goods to 18 per cent. He said this move will open new opportunities for trade and cooperation.
The agreement follows a period of trade tensions and is expected to improve market confidence.
While some critics have raised concerns about certain aspects of the deal, supporters say it will help expand trade, increase market access, and deepen economic collaboration between India and the United States.
