The School Education Department has announced that online counselling for Post Graduate (PG) Teacher vacancies in government higher secondary schools will be held on February 7 and 9 through the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) portal.According to a circular issued to Chief Educational Officers (CEOs), candidates selected by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) for the academic years 2023â2024 and 2024â2025 are eligible to take part in the counselling process.
The selection list of Post Graduate Assistant Teachers was released on January 22 on the official website. During the online counselling, candidates will be allowed to choose their preferred vacant posts through the EMIS platform.
The department has instructed Chief Educational Officers to immediately inform all eligible candidates about the counselling schedule. Counselling for all subjects will be conducted simultaneously, using district-level EMIS user IDs and passwords already provided to officials.
Education officials have been directed to ensure the availability of adequate computer systems and internet connectivity based on the number of candidates subject-wise. They have also been asked to verify educational certificates on the counselling day and confirm the vacant post selected by each candidate.
The circular clearly states that appointment orders should not be issued on the counselling day under any circumstances. The appointment orders will instead be formally distributed at a function in Chennai by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, the department said.
