The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations has released detailed guidelines for the conduct of Plus Two (Class 12) practical examinations, which will commence on February 9 across the state. The instructions have been issued through an official circular to all District Chief Educational Officers to ensure uniform and smooth conduct of the examinations. According to the department, the Tamil Nadu Plus Two public examinations will be held from March 2 to March 26. As many as 7,99,892 regular students and 26,441 private candidates are expected to appear for the exams, which will be conducted at 4,221 examination centres across Tamil Nadu. The practical examinations for Plus Two students will be held from February 9 to February 14, while Plus One arrear students will appear for their practical exams from February 16 to February 21. The guidelines state that special concessions will be provided only to differently-abled candidates. Such students may, if they choose, be allowed to take objective-type theory-based tests in place of practical examinations for subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Schools have been directed to properly record and report details of students who fail to attend the practical examinations. To ensure transparency, external teachers from other schools must be appointed as chief practical examiners. The Directorate has also instructed school headmasters to submit mark statements along with the required documents to the respective district examination offices on or before February 23. Officials have stressed that strict adherence to the guidelines is essential for the fair and timely conduct of the examinations. @@@
