Pollachi, Feb 9: In a bold prediction ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, AIADMK leader and local MLA Pollachi Jayaraman has asserted that the AIADMK-led alliance will form the next government in the state within about 60 days — “after two new moon days.” This remark was made during a political event in Pollachi, where he laid out his party’s expectations for a decisive electoral outcome.
Addressing supporters, Jayaraman claimed that various social issues such as the increasing sale of illicit drugs and rising prices were adversely affecting people across the state. According to him, these challenges have driven public sentiment towards change and will propel the AIADMK alliance to victory in the coming polls.
He specifically stated that Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) — current leader of the AIADMK — would be sworn in as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu once the party and its allies secure a majority. Jayaraman expressed strong confidence, saying there was no doubt about the outcome and that the public had already decided in favour of EPS’s leadership.
Jayaraman also made comments about the opposition DMK alliance, suggesting that the coalition was facing fractures which could undermine its performance. He added that the AIADMK’s campaign engine was already moving swiftly toward its goal, likening its momentum to a “fast-moving express.”
His remarks reflect the broader campaign narrative currently being promoted by the AIADMK and its allies as they push to unseat the incumbent DMK government—a core political battle shaping the run-up to the state elections.
