AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, accusing the ruling government of claiming credit for schemes initiated by the previous AIADMK regime.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader alleged that the DMK government has failed to introduce major new initiatives of its own and is merely rebranding projects launched during AIADMK rule.
He questioned the government’s achievements and criticised what he described as publicity-driven governance.
In a sarcastic remark aimed at the Chief Minister, Palaniswami said, “Congratulations on your defeat,” expressing confidence that the people would reject the ruling party in the upcoming elections.
His comments come amid escalating political exchanges between the AIADMK and the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls.
