The Chennai Unlimited Book Fair has returned to the city, offering book lovers an opportunity to purchase pre-owned books at discounted prices through a unique box-based sale format.The fair allows visitors to select books of their choice and fill a box, paying a fixed price depending on the size selected. Organisers said more than 10 lakh pre-owned books across various genres, including fiction, non-fiction, academic titles and childrenās literature, are available.
The pricing has been fixed at ā¹1,199 for a small box that can hold around 10 to 12 books, ā¹1,999 for a medium box with a capacity of about 17 to 18 books, and ā¹2,999 for a large box that can accommodate approximately 28 to 30 books.
In addition to discounted sales, registered participants will also be eligible for lucky draw prizes. The organisers said the box system offers better savings compared to conventional weight-based book sales.
The book fair is being held from February 20 to 24 at Kathipara Urbansquare, near Guindy Kathipara Bridge in Chennai, and will remain open daily from 10 am to 10 pm.
