Dharmapuri, Feb 23:
Anbumani Ramadoss, president of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), on Sunday said women in the State will play a decisive role in bringing about a change in government in Tamil Nadu in the run-up to the 2026 Assembly elections.
Speaking to media after inaugurating development works in a village near Dharmapuri, Anbumani criticised the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for failing to deliver on its promises, especially on welfare, jobs and education. He claimed that many schemes announced by the State government had not been implemented or had fallen short of public expectations.
Anbumani alleged that the DMKās financial incentives and handouts were being misused and that real change would come through empowerment rather than short-lived populist measures. āWhen women strive for genuine opportunities and development, they will bring about a transformation in governance,ā he said, emphasising the impact of women voters and their aspirations for progress.
He also highlighted his partyās contributions to local development, including funding for community facilities such as marriage halls and health centres, and insisted that grassroots engagement remains crucial ahead of the polls.
