Chennai, Feb 23:
TTV Dhinakaran, leader of the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) launched a sharp attack on O Panneerselvam (OPS), alleging that the former Chief Minister has aligned with “evil forces” for personal benefit.
Addressing reporters, Dhinakaran claimed that OPS had abandoned core principles and surrendered political integrity in pursuit of personal ambitions. He accused him of making decisions that serve only himself, rather than the interests of the people of Tamil Nadu. Dhinakaran contended that OPS’s actions reflected a lack of commitment to the welfare and development of the State. He said that true leadership demands adherence to party ideology and accountability to the electorate, not opportunistic alliances.
The AMMK leader also criticised what he described as a broader trend of political figures prioritising personal gains over public service. According to Dhinakaran, such moves weaken democratic values and undermine public trust in political institutions. His remarks come amid intensifying political realignments in the State ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, with parties sharpening their rhetoric and positioning ahead of the campaign.
