Gold prices in Chennai witnessed a slight decline today. The price of 22-carat jewellery gold fell by ₹10 per gram to ₹14,920, taking the rate for a sovereign (eight grams) to ₹1,19,360.
Silver prices remained steady in the city, with one gram priced at ₹295 and one kilogram at ₹2,95,000.
Market observers attribute the minor fluctuation to routine global price movements and currency trends. Despite day-to-day variations, gold continues to trade at elevated levels, with investors and jewellery buyers closely tracking further changes amid ongoing volatility in international markets.
