Kara starring Dhanush set to release on April 30

The much-anticipated Tamil film Kara, starring Dhanush, has officially got its theatrical release date. Producer Ishari K. Ganesh of Vels Film International announced at the Vels Festival, Nakshatra 2026, that Kara will hit cinemas on April 30, 2026.
Directed by Vignesh Raja, known for his work on Por Thozhil, the film sees Dhanush in a rugged role as Karasaami, a character navigating the challenges of life with grit and resolve. Set against the backdrop of the 1990s, Kara promises to blend intense drama with emotional depth as its lead battles powerful adversaries and confronts his own inner conflicts.
The film also features an ensemble cast including Mamitha Baiju, KS Ravikumar, Jayaram, Karunaas, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, MS Bhaskar and Sreeja Ravi. Music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, with cinematography by Theni Eswar. With background work wrapping up and promotions gearing up, the April 30 release has already sparked excitement among fans and industry observers alike.
Kara is shaping up as one of Dhanush’s most eagerly awaited releases of 2026, adding to a promising year for Tamil cinema.
