Vijay, President of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has strongly condemned the brutal double murder in Nanguneri and launched a sharp attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, accusing it of failing to maintain law and order in Tamil Nadu.
In a statement, Vijay expressed deep shock and anguish over the killing of two persons in Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district. According to reports, a gang allegedly attacked a group of people late at night near a tea shop, resulting in the death of two individuals and injuries to five others. The assailants reportedly arrived on two-wheelers and carried out the assault with deadly weapons, creating panic in the area.
Condemning the incident in strong terms, Vijay said such gruesome crimes expose the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He questioned how such violent acts could take place in public and alleged that the DMK government has failed to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
The TVK leader extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack. He demanded that the perpetrators be arrested immediately and that strict action be taken against those responsible.
Vijay further alleged that repeated incidents of violence show the government’s inability to control criminal activities and called for urgent measures to restore public confidence. He urged the administration to act decisively to prevent recurrence of such incidents and ensure justice for the victims.
