Actor-producer Yash has announced the postponement of his highly anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups due to the ongoing regional instability and escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a statement shared on social media, Yash said the film’s release has been moved from its original date of March 19 to June 4 after discussions with Gulf distributor Phars Films.
Sharing a note from the production houses KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Yash explained that the film was conceived as a project aimed at reaching a global audience.
The statement noted that Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups was filmed in Kannada and English with the intention of connecting with viewers both in India and internationally.
“After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with audiences on March 19. However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal of reaching the widest possible audience,” the statement said.
The film is written by Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas. The movie features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria in key roles.
With the new release date now set for June 4, the makers said they remain committed to bringing the film to audiences worldwide once conditions stabilise.
