Actor-filmmaker Vijay Kumar is set to play the lead in the upcoming Tamil film Arivu, directed by Sathyasiva. The project was officially announced on social media by actors Suriya and Jyothika, who unveiled the film’s first-look poster.
Arivu marks Vijay Kumar’s return to acting after his 2024 film Election. The film is described as a socially conscious political drama, with the poster hinting at themes surrounding the lives and rights of tribal women. Actress Anandhi will play the female lead, while the supporting cast includes Subiksha Kumar, Joshika Maya, Ismath Banu, Singampuli, I. M. Vijayan and Deepa Shankar.
The film is written and directed by Sathyasiva, known for films like Kazhugu and Freedom. Dialogues are penned by Nikesh RS, and the project is produced by Saivinoth and Jayakumar under the banner Movietron Production. The makers have not yet revealed further plot details, but expectations are high for the film’s socially relevant storyline.
