The Central Government has increased the minimum gap for booking domestic LPG cylinders from 21 days to 25 days. Under the new rule, consumers can place their next booking only 25 days after the previous cylinder delivery.
The decision comes amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, which could disrupt the supply of crude oil and natural gas. The government has introduced these precautionary measures to ensure stable LPG distribution across the country.
The announcement was made following a high-level review chaired by Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, where officials discussed potential supply disruptions due to challenges in the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route for oil and gas.
Authorities are also exploring alternative supply routes to avoid shortages and ensure continuous domestic fuel supply. Consumers have been advised to use LPG carefully and plan their bookings according to the new 25-day interval rule.
