Madurai, Mar 14: Thol. Thirumavalavan, leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), said that actor Rajinikanth realised that politics was not suitable for him and therefore chose to stay away from it.
Speaking to reporters at the airport after arriving in Madurai, Thirumavalavan dismissed claims that Rajinikanth was threatened by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and forced to stay away from politics. He said such allegations were imaginary and did not reflect the actor’s personality.
According to him, Rajinikanth had once considered launching a political party in response to the expectations of his fans. However, he later realised that the current political climate, including the growing influence of right-wing forces, was not suitable for him and decided to step back from entering politics.
Thirumavalavan also said that Rajinikanth cannot be lured or forced into politics and that suggesting he withdrew out of fear would undermine his stature. He added that the DMK-led alliance remains strong in Tamil Nadu and that discussions on seat sharing within the alliance would be announced after talks are completed.
The VCK leader made these remarks while addressing various political questions from journalists during his visit to Madurai.
