A controversy surrounding remarks about Rajinikanth has taken a new turn, with Aadhav Arjuna issuing a public apology following widespread backlash.
The issue began after Aadhav Arjuna, a functionary of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), claimed that Rajinikanth had refrained from entering politics due to pressure from the DMK. The statement triggered strong reactions from political leaders, film personalities, and fans, who criticised the remarks as baseless.
Responding to the controversy, Rajinikanth released a statement rejecting the claims as untrue and thanked those who supported him. He also remarked that “time will not speak, but will wait and answer,” hinting at his confidence in the truth prevailing.
Amid mounting criticism, Aadhav Arjuna clarified his position during a public meeting. He stated that he did not intend to insult or belittle Rajinikanth and insisted that his comments were misunderstood. Emphasising that he holds only respect and admiration for the actor, he expressed regret over the controversy.
“I did not mean to say he was afraid or to demean him. If my words caused hurt, I sincerely apologise,” he said, adding that he respects Rajinikanth’s sentiments and his statement.
