Tel Aviv, Mar 18: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has released a fresh video with US envoy Mike Huckabee, firmly dismissing viral rumours claiming he was killed during the ongoing Iran conflict.
The video, which surfaced amid heightened tensions in West Asia, shows Netanyahu walking and interacting casually with Huckabee. The US envoy is heard joking that he had been sent to “check” on the Israeli leader’s well-being, to which Netanyahu responds with a smile, saying, “Yes, I’m alive.”
The rumours of Netanyahu’s death had spread widely on social media, fuelled by misinformation and alleged AI-generated videos. A particularly bizarre claim — dubbed the “six fingers theory” — suggested that earlier footage of Netanyahu showed an extra finger, leading some users to speculate that the video was fake or manipulated.
Addressing the conspiracy directly, Netanyahu mocked the claim in the new video, pointing out that he has “five fingers” on each hand. His remarks were seen as a sarcastic response to the growing wave of online misinformation.
