Carmeni Selvam, directed by Ram Chakri, is gearing up for a theatrical release on April 3. Positioned as a feel-good family entertainer, the film brings together a strong ensemble cast and a socially relevant narrative.

The movie stars Samuthirakani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, Abhinaya, Karthik Kumar, and several others including Padava Gopi, Madhumitha, Arjunan, Haritha Paragodu, Kothandam, and Karan Chakravarthy.

The film is produced by Arun Rangarajulu under the banner of Pathway Productions. Cinematography is handled by Yuvraj Dakshan, while the music has been composed by Musicloud Studio & Technology.

As part of the promotional campaign, a press meet was held in Chennai with the presence of the film’s cast and crew.

Speaking at the event, producer Arun Rangarajulu described the movie as his second venture after Kurayondrum Illai, which he produced a decade ago. He emphasized that the film is a relatable family drama designed to connect with audiences across all sections.

Composer Ramanujam highlighted that the film’s music was created entirely without the use of AI technology. He noted that all songs and background scores were performed live, with recordings taking place in cities such as Kochi, Jaipur, and Mumbai in collaboration with renowned musicians.

Actress Abhinaya, communicating through sign language, expressed gratitude for being chosen for a family-oriented role and described her experience of working with Samuthirakani as unforgettable.

Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli shared that the film set was filled with warmth and simplicity, which translated into the film’s tone.

Director Ram Chakri revealed that this is a deeply personal project and spoke about his journey from crowdfunding his earlier film to making Carmeni Selvam.  He also mentioned a unique initiative where revenue generated from the film’s songs will be shared among all contributing musicians, highlighting the collaborative spirit behind the project.

Samuthirakani described the film as more than just entertainment, calling it a meaningful creation that emphasizes the difference between being wealthy and being truly content.
