Chennai, March 28:
The people of Tamil Nadu are ready for a change, and this election will mark the return of good governance,” asserted Edappadi K. Palaniswami as he intensified his campaign for the Assembly elections with a high-energy roadshow in Tambaram on Friday.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam General Secretary, who is also the Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister, is currently on a statewide campaign tour, canvassing support for AIADMK candidates and those of its allies in the National Democratic Alliance.
Addressing party cadres and the public in Tambaram, Chengalpattu district, Palaniswami said the alliance was committed to restoring development and ensuring people-centric governance. “We are meeting people directly and hearing their concerns. There is strong support on the ground for the AIADMK-led alliance,” he said.
He criticised the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, alleging administrative failures and unfulfilled promises. “The present government has failed to meet the expectations of the people. Tamil Nadu deserves better leadership and transparent governance,” he charged.
The campaign stop in Tambaram is part of Palaniswami’s “campaign whirlwind tour” across the State, aimed at consolidating support ahead of the April 23 polls. Party leaders said large crowds turned up at the venue, reflecting enthusiasm among cadres and voters alike.
With electioneering gaining momentum, the AIADMK leader is expected to continue his tour across key constituencies in the coming days, focusing on mobilising grassroots support for the alliance candidates.
