Actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to file his nomination papers for the Tiruchirappalli (East) Assembly constituency on Thursday, marking a key step in his electoral debut.
Sources indicate that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader will enter the fray from Trichy East as part of his strategy for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where polling is scheduled for April 23.
Vijay is already contesting from Perambur in Chennai, and his decision to also enter the Trichy East race is expected to intensify the political contest in the constituency, which is witnessing a multi-cornered battle.
