Chennai, Apr 1:
Chennai is set for a major infrastructure upgrade as road widening works covering nearly 100 km are being undertaken to reduce traffic congestion across the city.
The large-scale project focuses on key arterial roads, busy junctions, and high-traffic corridors, with the aim of improving travel time and making daily commuting smoother for residents.
Several important locations, including major intersections and prominent landmark areas, have been identified under the plan. Authorities expect that once completed, the initiative will significantly enhance traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks in critical parts of the city.
Officials said the works are part of broader urban mobility improvements designed to support Chennai’s growing population and rising vehicle density.
