Chennai, Apr 3:

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC), in coordination with Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd, has announced free bus travel for cricket fans attending IPL matches at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium.

According to officials, passengers holding valid match tickets will be allowed to travel free on non-AC MTC buses for up to three hours before and after the match.

To facilitate smooth movement of spectators, the MTC will operate special bus services from various parts of the city to the stadium. For return travel, buses will be arranged from key points located within 500 metres of the venue, including Anna Square, Island Grounds temporary bus stop, University of Madras bus stop, and near Omandurar Government Hospital on Anna Salai.

In addition, shuttle services will be operated between the Anna statue on Anna Salai and the stadium to further ease last-mile connectivity for fans.

The initiative is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and encouraging the use of public transport during match days, ensuring a smoother experience for cricket enthusiasts travelling to Chepauk.
