New Delhi, Apr 8:
The Indian government has issued an urgent advisory asking its citizens in Iran to remain where they are and stay indoors for the next 48 hours amid rising tensions in the region.
The Embassy of India in Tehran instructed nationals to avoid movement and remain inside their residences. It also warned them to stay away from sensitive locations such as military installations, power plants, and upper floors of high-rise buildings.
The advisory further directed Indians staying in embassy-arranged accommodations to strictly remain indoors and stay in regular contact with embassy officials. Citizens have also been asked to follow official updates and avoid unnecessary travel.
The move comes as the security situation in Iran continues to deteriorate, with heightened geopolitical tensions and threats of escalation. Reports indicate that diplomatic communication channels between Iran and the United States have been suspended, adding to concerns over potential conflict.
Officials said the advisory is a precautionary step to ensure the safety of Indian nationals, with emergency helplines remaining active and authorities closely monitoring developments.
