Chennai, Apr 9:
Taking aim at Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) questioned the relevance of raising Centre-related issues during the ongoing Tamil Nadu Assembly election campaign.
Campaigning in multiple constituencies including Velachery, Saidapet and T. Nagar, EPS said the delimitation issue being raised by Stalin was a national matter and not specific to Tamil Nadu. He pointed out that the Union Government had already clarified that the exercise would not adversely affect the state.
“Now elections are happening in Tamil Nadu. Speak about that,” he said, questioning the Chief Minister’s focus on national issues instead of state concerns.
EPS further asked what benefit there was in discussing Parliamentary matters during a State election campaign. “What is the use of talking about issues at the Centre now? Does it have any connection with this election?” he remarked.
