New Delhi,  Apr 17:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday assured that the proposed delimitation exercise would be fair and unbiased, stating that no state or region would face discrimination.

Addressing the Lok Sabha, he said, “I guarantee that delimitation will not be biased against anyone,” seeking to allay concerns raised by Opposition parties, particularly from southern states.

He emphasised that the process would ensure balanced representation across the country—from north to south and east to west—and urged parties not to view the issue through a political lens. The assurance comes amid a heated national debate over delimitation and its potential impact on states, alongside the Centre’s push to implement women’s reservation in legislatures.
