Chief Minister M. K. Stalin cast his vote at a polling station in Teynampet on Thursday as polling progressed across Tamil Nadu.
The DMK president arrived at the booth early in the day and exercised his franchise amid tight security arrangements. His visit drew attention from party cadres and voters gathered at the polling station.
Polling for the 234-member Assembly began at 7 am and is being held in a single phase across the State, with authorities reporting steady turnout and long queues at several booths since early morning.
M. K. Stalin is seeking a consecutive term in office, contesting from the Kolathur constituency, as the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam aims to retain power.
