Chennai, Apr 25:
The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has planned an extensive transport arrangement, deploying a total of 14,508 buses on April 25 and 26 to facilitate the return of voters following the Assembly elections.

According to TNSTC Managing Director R. Mohan, the special services will operate in addition to the regular daily bus schedules to ensure smooth and hassle-free passenger movement across the state during the post-poll travel rush.

On April 25, apart from 2,092 regular buses, an additional 1,295 buses will be operated from key locations, along with 2,500 special buses connecting various destinations.

The following day, April 26, will see 2,092 regular buses operating towards Chennai, supplemented by 3,184 special buses bound for the city and 3,345 special services catering to other parts of the state.

In total, these arrangements are expected to handle a significant surge in passenger traffic as voters return to their workplaces and residences after participating in the electoral process.

Advance reservation figures indicate strong demand, with 19,676 passengers booking tickets for April 25 and as many as 47,001 passengers for April 26. Authorities anticipate further bookings as travel peaks over the weekend.

Passengers undertaking long-distance journeys have been advised to make use of advance reservation facilities through TNSTC’s official website and mobile application to avoid last-minute congestion and ensure a comfortable journey.
