In a sweeping surge, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has taken the lead across all 13 constituencies in Chennai and all 10 seats in Tiruvallur, according to early counting trends.
The development marks a significant shift in the political landscape, especially in Chennai, long considered a stronghold of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. TVK’s dominance in both urban and suburban belts signals a strong voter swing in its favour.
Party chief Vijay’s influence appears to be a key factor behind the surge, with the party leading comfortably in multiple constituencies after initial rounds of counting.
Officials cautioned that these are early leads and the situation may evolve as counting progresses further, particularly with several rounds still remaining.
