Ahmedabad, May 4:

Gujarat Titans pulled off a nail-biting victory against Punjab Kings in a last-over thriller during their Indian Premier League 2026 clash in Ahmedabad.

It was Washington Sundar who held his nerve under pressure, smashing a match-winning six off Marcus Stoinis to finish the chase in style. Sundar remained unbeaten on 40 off 23 balls, guiding Gujarat home in dramatic fashion.

Earlier, Suryansh Shedge played a crucial knock of 57 off 29 balls to rescue Punjab after a disastrous start. Reduced to 47/5, PBKS rebuilt through a 79-run partnership between Shedge and Stoinis (40), eventually posting 163/9. However, the lack of late acceleration hurt them.

For Gujarat, Jason Holder starred with the ball, picking up 4/24, while Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj chipped in with two wickets each.

In response, Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with a steady 57 off 41 balls. But once he departed, Punjab clawed their way back into the contest, pushing the match to the final over.

With three needed off two balls, Sundar’s towering six sealed a thrilling win for Gujarat.
