Chennai,  May 6:

The 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election results underline a clear shift in voter preference, with Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) emerging as the frontrunner in terms of vote share, significantly ahead of its rivals.

TVK topped the chart with a 34.92% vote share, establishing itself as the single largest political force in the State. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam followed with 24.19%, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam secured 21.21%, placing it third.

Among alliance partners, the Indian National Congress and other smaller parties accounted for the remaining share, reflecting a fragmented mandate beyond the top three.

The vote share distribution clearly indicates that TVK not only led the electoral race but also succeeded in consolidating a broad base of support across regions, pushing the traditional Dravidian majors into second and third positions.
