Chennai, May 12:

A major political development is unfolding in Tamil Nadu as a rival faction within the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has indicated its willingness to support the ruling Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), exposing deep divisions in the party.

Senior leader C. Ve. Shanmugam, speaking to the press on Tuesday, claimed that party chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami had attempted to become Chief Minister with the support of the DMK. He said the move had irked several leaders within the party, who chose to oppose it.

Shanmugam indicated that this dissatisfaction has led a section of the party to consider extending support to Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and his TVK government. The remarks have further intensified the internal power struggle within the AIADMK, raising questions about unity in the party after its recent electoral setback.
