Chennai, May 22:
The post-poll review panel constituted by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is expected to submit its final assessment report by the end of this month, following the completion of an extensive constituency-wise field study across Tamil Nadu.
The committee, formed by party president M. K. Stalin, was tasked with conducting a detailed ground-level evaluation in all 234 Assembly constituencies. The party leadership had initially set a June 5 deadline for the submission of the report.
According to party sources, the panel members were deputed as representatives of the headquarters to engage directly with grassroots cadre and local functionaries. Their mandate included understanding on-the-ground sentiments, organisational gaps and feedback from party workers in the aftermath of the electoral setback.
Over the past few weeks, the panel has held interactions with district-level leaders, booth agents and cadre to gather inputs on campaign strategy, coordination issues and factors that contributed to the defeat. The exercise is seen as one of the most comprehensive internal reviews undertaken by the party in recent years.
The findings of the panel are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the party’s future course, with major organisational changes and corrective measures likely to follow as the DMK prepares for upcoming electoral challenges.
