Chennai, May 23:

Chennai witnessed a dramatic shift in weather conditions on Saturday morning, bringing much-needed relief to residents who had been enduring intense summer heat over the past several days. The city, which had been reeling under scorching temperatures and oppressive humidity, woke up to a noticeably cooler atmosphere marked by strong, pleasant winds.

Since early morning, dense cloud cover has spread across the city and its suburbs, effectively blocking the harsh rays of the sun. The once blazing skyline has now turned overcast, with dark clouds hovering low, creating a calm and refreshing environment. The change has significantly reduced discomfort levels, allowing residents to step outdoors without the usual strain of the heat.

For many in Chennai, who until recently found it difficult to manage even a few minutes without air conditioning, the sudden drop in temperature has come as a welcome surprise. With favourable conditions continuing through the day, there is growing anticipation that the cloud cover may lead to rainfall, potentially turning the weekend into a notably cooler and more pleasant spell.
