Chennai, May 26:
The Tamil Nadu government on Monday ordered the transfer and posting of three senior IPS officers with immediate effect, as per an official notification issued by the Home Department.
A Arun, IPS, who was on compulsory wait, has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police and Director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), Chennai. The post of Director, DVAC, earlier in the rank of Director General of Police, has been downgraded to facilitate the appointment.
Dr Maheshwar Dayal, IPS, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Chennai, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police (Administration), Chennai. This appointment was made by downgrading the vacant Director General of Police (Administration) post.
T S Anbu, IPS, also on compulsory wait, has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), Chennai, replacing Dr Maheshwar Dayal.
The reshuffle comes as part of routine administrative changes aimed at strengthening key policing and vigilance functions in the State.
