Mythri Movie Makers continues to strengthen its reputation for delivering diverse and engaging cinema with its upcoming bilingual venture Irumudi Kattu. Headlined by Ravi Teja, the film marks a significant milestone in the actor’s career as his first-ever project simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu, raising expectations among audiences across regions.
Known for his energetic screen presence, Ravi Teja appears to take a refreshing departure from his usual larger-than-life roles. The film presents him in multiple emotional shades — as a caring father, a man battling inner turmoil, and eventually as a devotee embracing spirituality. This transformation, driven by his daughter’s emotional plea to give up alcohol, forms the emotional core of the narrative.
Set against the spiritually rich backdrop of Lord Ayyappa, Irumudi Kattu explores themes of family bonding, redemption, and personal transformation. At its heart lies a touching father-daughter relationship, intertwined with faith and emotional struggles. The film aims to strike a chord with audiences through its grounded storytelling, avoiding exaggerated drama while focusing on relatable human experiences.
The title itself reflects the film’s essence, symbolising devotion and the spiritual journey associated with Lord Ayyappa. Beyond its religious connotation, it hints at a deeper emotional voyage, where the protagonist undergoes a meaningful transformation shaped by love, sacrifice, and faith.
The ensemble cast includes Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sai Kumar, Baby Nakshathra, Ajay Ghosh, Ramesh Indira, Swasika and several others, adding depth to the narrative. The film is directed by Shiva Nirvana, who also handles the story, screenplay and dialogues, bringing his signature emotional storytelling style to the project.
Backed by producers Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, the film is presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and T-Series Films. Music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, while cinematography is handled by Vishnu Sharma, promising a visually rich and emotionally immersive experience.
Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in August 2026, Irumudi Kattu is shaping up to be a heartfelt family entertainer that blends spirituality with strong emotional storytelling, offering a refreshing cinematic experience for audiences.
