Chennai, June 9:

Southern Railway has announced temporary changes to suburban EMU services between Chennai and Arakkonam from June 8 to June 12 due to engineering and maintenance works at Arakkonam railway yard.

Several train services have been fully cancelled, while many others will be operated only up to Tiruvallangadu. Services between Tiruvallangadu and Arakkonam will remain suspended during the maintenance period.

Among the fully cancelled services are select Arakkonam–Tiruttani and Tiruttani–Chennai routes, including early morning and late-night trains. A large number of Chennai-bound and outbound services will also be short-terminated or originated at Tiruvallangadu instead of Arakkonam.

Passengers travelling on the Chennai–Arakkonam suburban corridor have been advised to check revised schedules in advance and plan their journeys accordingly. A special passenger train will also be operated from Tiruttani to Chennai Moore Market Complex during the disruption period to ease commuter movement.
