In a historic moment for Indian cinema, Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan have emerged as the top two box-office winners of 2026, achieving a feat never seen before in the industry.

Chiranjeevi set the tone with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which crossed ₹300 crore worldwide and became the highest-grossing South Indian film of the year at the time. The film reaffirmed his enduring mass appeal and strong fan base.

Soon after, Ram Charan surpassed that milestone with Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film has overtaken his father’s collections and is now heading towards the ₹400 crore mark, emerging as the biggest South Indian blockbuster of 2026.

This rare achievement marks the first time a father-son duo has occupied the top two positions at the box office in the same year. Their success has also provided a major boost to the theatrical business, bringing audiences back to cinemas after a slow phase.

Together, Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan have turned 2026 into a landmark year, reinforcing the Mega family’s legacy and setting a new benchmark in Indian cinema.
